1. The book The Outsiders by SE Hinton was banned in some public school systems. The reason The Outsiders was banned from many schools was because of the profanity and violence. Educators thought that kids were being exposed to things they weren't ready for. Some people say that the book promoted un-Christian values yet many people who protest against the book have never read the book themselves. The book has now been brought back in some school systems(answers.com).
2.SE Hinton is the author of the novel, The Outsiders. She wrote the book for three mainb reasons. One, she loved to write. Two, she was not happy about the social situation at her huigh school. At the time she says there was no realistic fiction about teenage drama. That are the main reasons why she wrote here book, The Outsiders (sehinton.com).

Blog 10:Continued Chasing Orion- Katheryn Lasky
Do you relate to the main character in your book? How is he or she like or not like you? Compare and contrast the main character's life with yours.
I can relate to the main character in my IRB, Georgie Mason. She is always worring about the wefare of other people, mainly her brother. Similarly, I always tend to worry about people a little too much and just wind up annoying them like Georgie. Now she is nicknamed Saint Georgie, yet she dosn't feel like a saint because she feels like she was unable to help her brother Emmett and her polio-infected friend Phyllis.Just like her I also sometimes feel like I've let someone down.

Blog 9: Chasing Orion by Kathryn Lasky
If you could create a symbol for the main character in your IRB, what would it be and why? Be sure to include specific examples from your book to support your choice.
There is a symbol that can be created in my IRb, Chasing Orion, by Kathryn Lasky. The symbol I would choose would be the constallation Orion. The main character, Georgie Mason loves the stars and lives in a small town where 51 people have been diagnosed with Polio. She and her brother Emmett have just met their new next door neighbor, Phyllis whom is diagnosed. The symbol would mean hope for all the people who have Polio and understanding for Georgie and Emmmett.

Blog 8: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne
Descirbe the effect the literature has on its audience. Make sure to use specific examples to support your answer.
There is an effect to the audience in my IRB, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, by John Boyne. My IRB makes me want to stay home. It takes place back during World War II in Nazi times. Nine-year-old Bruno's father has been offered a new job as a Commandant for Hitler's army far away from Berlin. So, of course, the whole family leaves their lavish 5 floor home packs up their belongings and leaves for Auschwitz. No one, minus Bruno's father, is happy to be there, especially not Bruno.

Identify a theme in your IRB. Describe events in your book that support this theme. (Highlight statement, proper nouns or numbers, and conclusion.)
The theme in my story, The Crossroads by Chirs Grabenstein is anger. Clint Eberhart died fifty years ago in a car craah that took 40 lives, the only survivor is his wife, Mary. Clint now comes to her through the body of her grandson, Billy O'Clair. Billy is aware of what horroble creature is possesing his body and tries to fight back. Clint is out to get his wife back because he believes that is completly unfair that he died and she did not. He is also out to get young Zack Jennings for what his grandfather, Sargent James Jennings, did to his son, whom is also dead. It is only a matter of time.
