Blog 8: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne

Descirbe the effect the literature has on its audience.  Make sure to use specific examples to support your answer.
There is an effect to the audience in my IRB, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, by John Boyne. My IRB makes me want to stay home. It takes place back during World War II in Nazi times. Nine-year-old Bruno's father has been offered a new job as a Commandant for Hitler's army far away from Berlin. So, of course, the whole family leaves their lavish 5 floor home packs up their belongings and leaves for Auschwitz. No one, minus Bruno's father, is happy to be there, especially not Bruno.

Blog 7: The Crossroads by Chirs Grabenstein

November 3, 2010

Identify a theme in your IRB.  Describe events in your book that support this theme.  (Highlight statement, proper nouns or numbers, and conclusion.)

The theme in my story, The Crossroads by Chirs Grabenstein  is anger. Clint Eberhart died fifty years ago in a car craah that took 40 lives, the only survivor is his wife, Mary. Clint now comes to her through the body of her grandson, Billy O'Clair. Billy is aware of what horroble creature is possesing his body and tries to fight back. Clint is out to get his wife back because he believes that  is completly unfair that he died and she did not. He is also out to get young Zack Jennings for what his grandfather, Sargent James Jennings, did to his son, whom is also dead. It is only a matter of time.
